High-quality backlinks are a staple of any SEO plan. If many related and reputable websites link back to yours, you have a good chance of ranking high in search results for relevant keywords.
In this post, we’ll list some quick and easy ways to build backlinks to your site. First, there are a few things to remember before implementing the tips:
- Although the aim is to get links from other sites, internal links are also important. If possible, each page on your site should link to another one of your site’s pages. Here’s a list of things that you can do to get more backlinks. Some of these are easier and less time-consuming than others, so start with those if you have limited resources:
1. Write a guest post for another blog in your industry (preferably not a competitor), and ask them to include an author bio with links to your site.
2. Post insightful comments on other blogs that will prompt readers to click on your name, which should direct to your site. If this feature is not enabled, include your site link at the bottom of your comment.
3. Link to your site from all your social network profiles (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, etc.). Similarly, include social buttons on all of your pages to encourage others to share the content.
4. If other brands or businesses ask you to write reviews or testimonials for them, include your URL so that they can link back to you.
5. If you feature a particular person, product or company in a blog post, email or tag them on a social network to let them know that you’ve written about them. They will share or link to your post.
6. Interview a high-profile person in your niche and post a Q&A article on your site. The interviewee will most likely share and link to the content when promoting their business, or in the Media section of their site.
7. Create a list of the top influencers in your industry and let them know so that they can feature it on their sites. For example: “Top 20 Entrepreneurship Podcasters to Follow on Twitter,” “The Greenest Startups in America,” or “Why You Should Follow these Small Business Blogs.” Plus, you might even get featured on one of their lists!
